Land of Illusion Christmas Glow

Land of Illusion is known primarily for their Halloween haunted attractions, but they transform the park into a Christmas destination each winter with Christmas Glow—and honestly, half the reason we go is for the drive-through lights before you even get to the main village.

The Drive-Through Experience

The 2-mile drive-through features 3.8 million lights in a “Christmas Around the World” theme. You wind through eight different magical lands from the comfort of your car, holiday music playing as you take in the displays. It’s a proper drive-through experience—long enough to feel substantial and varied enough to stay interesting.

Drive-Through Lights Millions of lights along the drive-through route

This is the real draw for me. The drive-through alone makes the trip worthwhile.

The Christmas Village

After the drive-through, you park and enter the Christmas Village. There’s a lot to do here, though this year we felt less interested in what was available:

Drive-Through Lights More lights along the drive-through route

Santa’s Workshop - Santa is there for visits and photos, which is always a hit with kids.

Petting Zoo - A cool little petting zoo that’s surprisingly fun. The animals are friendly and it’s a nice addition to the experience.

Rides - There are three rides available: a train, mechanical reindeer, and a holiday-themed virtual reality experience. They’re okay—nothing spectacular, but kids enjoy them.

Movies - They have holiday movies playing, which is a nice touch if you want to take a break.

Animatronics - If you’re into animatronics, there are some super cool ones throughout the village. Land of Illusion knows how to do animatronics from their haunted house work, and it shows.

The Adult Lounge

I’ve never hung out in the adult lounge, but it’s there if you want to grab a drink while the kids enjoy the village.

Mini Donuts

The mini donuts are a must. Fair warning: the line is always long. But they’re a pretty good value and worth the wait.

Final Thoughts

Land of Illusion Christmas Glow is a fun outing. The drive-through lights are legitimately impressive at 3.8 million lights over 2 miles, and the village offers enough to keep the family entertained for an hour or so. It’s not the most elaborate Christmas village experience, but the combination of the drive-through and the walkable village area makes for a solid evening out.
